17/18 ST PATRICK'S PARTY GAME

The famous London Irish St Patrick’s Party game is back at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday 24 March for its 17th year and promises to be a cracking day of non-stop entertainment. Gloucester Rugby will be our rivals and London Irish will be looking to do the double having beaten the Cherry and Whites 23-18 at the iconic clash in 2016.

We've got live music, fairground rides, hundreds of prizes to be won, a Kids Zone, plenty of Guinness and lots more - so whether you’re looking for a day out for the whole family or somewhere to party all day long, the Madejski Stadium in Reading is the place to be!

Tickets

You can book your place at the party of the season from just £4 for under 13s and £26 for adults, and as the St Patrick's Party is the perfect occasion to share with friends and family we are offering a 25% discount to groups of 10 adults or more.

We are also introducing a family ticket consisting of 2 adult and 2 concession tickets in the South Stand costing just £50, which saves you up to £44!

WHAT'S ON

PRE-MATCH

St Patrick's Party Festival

This year's U7 to U10s St Patrick's Party Festival will take place in the morning at Palmer Park Sports Stadium close to the Madejski Stadium and will be the biggest yet!

After the festival each participant will head to the Madejski and some will take part in the Guard of Honour to cheer the teams onto the pitch. Click here to find out more about the St Patrick's Party Festival.

Supporters' Village



The Supporters’ Village opens at noon with activities for all ages including dodgems, a red arrows or roller coaster simulator ride, a carousel and much more, all included in the price of your ticket. There'll be a variety of food and drink stalls including a Guinness Bar.

The Paul Bowen Band and The Reels will get the party going live on stage and there'll be a prize for the best dressed adult and junior supporters so dig out your shamrock glasses and leprechaun hats! 

There are hundreds of prizes to be won from the Guinness Prize Wall, including international tickets and signed merchandise, and Select Car Leasing will be running a competition where you could win a Mustang driving experience day!


The Village will close at 2.30pm to give supporters enough time to make their way to their seats for the game.

North Stand

We'll be giving out FREE London Irish flags and clap banners outside the North Stand before the game!

Digger's Pound will be in the North Stand concourse for the little ones before the game, with a bouncy castle, giant inflatable obstacle course and pole joust!

In the stadium

There will be live music in the build up to kick off from Exile's favourite Ronan MacManus. The London Irish St Patrick’s Party Community Choir made up from pupils from 400 local schools will perform the traditional rendition of Fields of Athenry before kick-off, led by Ronan.

HALF-TIME

Celebrating all things Irish, we will be treated to a performance from the Maguire O’Shea Academy of Irish Dance at half-time, as well as a zorb relay race on the pitch.

 

Big Screen

POST-MATCH

The Supporters’ Village will re-open after the game with headliners BibleCode Sundays performing a bumper set live on the stage followed by our St Patrick’s Party DJ to keep the party going. The Man of the Match award presentation will also take place on the stage after the game.

The dodgems, carousel and simulator ride will be running after the game for your entertainment, until the Supporters' Village closes at 7.30pm.

The Windsor Lounge will also be open after the game.

HOSPITALITY

Why not experience the St Patrick’s Party as a VIP and treat yourself to match day hospitality. We have a range of packages available starting from £50 + VAT per person in the Platinum Club to £130 + VAT per person in our Touchline Restaurant which includes a three course lunch with wine and padded balcony seats on the halfway line.

Our 10 or 12 seater Executive Boxes start from £1950 and can be booked with a range of catering options. Each includes a player appearance after the game from one of the match day squad.

TRANSPORT

Car

Parking at the stadium is now sold out. There is parking available to purchase on the day at the Old Greyhoud Stadium for £10 (subject to availability). Parking permit holders will be able to park onsite as normal.

The Mereoak park & ride is situated just south of junction 11 of the M4, take the A33 towards Basingstoke and follow the signs for the park & ride site. The post code is RG7 1PB.

The Madejski Stadium can be approached from the A33 Reading Relief Road which links to the M4 Motorway. Exit the M4 at Junction 11 heading for Reading on the A33. At the first roundabout, take the 2nd left onto the Reading Relief Road, passing the Stadium on your left. At the next roundabout (past McDonalds) take the first left onto Northern Way and follow signs to car parks. You can find a map here: http://bit.ly/2ysNpuZ

Ongoing roadworks on the A33 may cause delays so please allow extra time for your journey.

 

Train

Reading Buses operate a frequent R1 service between the Southwest Interchange bus station by Reading Station and the Madejski Stadium on match days.

Buses depart from the Southwest Interchange up to 3 hours before kick-off and work as a frequent service until roughly 20 minutes before kick-off. 

Returning from the Madejski, services depart from Northern Way after full-time and operate for around two and a half hours until 7.15pm.

There will be no trains calling at Swindon station on Saturday and some routes between London Paddington, Reading, Bedwyn, Bristol stations, Swansea and Plymouth will be affected. Please click here for more information.
