Argentina international Juan Martín González Samso joined the Exiles in early November of the 2021/22 season.

The back-row forward, formerly of Jaguares, made his international debut for Argentina earlier this year – coming off the bench to score a try against Romania – and has since gone on to feature in the Rugby Championship fixtures for his country, including outings against Australia and New Zealand.

González made a strong impression in his opening season in west London under Kidney and co., with his eight dominant tackles in the Premiership the most for Irish that year.

His first try in Irish colours, in a try bonus point loss against Saracens in the EPCR Challenge Cup, was nominated for the London Irish Try of the Season.

He made the fourth-most tackle breaks amongst Irish's loose forwards that term, and his six Premiership breakdown steals were joint-most in back-row players.

18 appearances in his first season with Irish saw him bed in alongside fellow new signing Lucio Cinti Luna, as well as other compatriots Facundo Gigena and Agustín Creevy.
