21-year-old hooker Ignacio Ruiz joined up with London Irish following the 2022 Autumn Nations Series, becoming Irish's fifth Argentinian member of the squad at the time.
Making his international debut in the second win of a series against Scotland in July 2022, he also played his part in a memorable year for Los Pumas with a first win over England in 13 years at Twickenham Stadium in that November period.
The season before joining the west Londoners, Ruiz played for Jaguares XV in the Super Liga Americana and Regatas Bella Vista in Argentina’s URBA Top 13 domestic league competition.
In his final outing for Argentina before linking up with the Exiles saw him score his first international try, make a try-saving tackle and win a turnover in 16 minutes of rugby against Scotland.
