The London Irish Community After School Club provided a group of lucky youngsters from St. Michael’s School, Ashford, an exciting opportunity this week.

With the start of the Rugby World Cup just days away, the Community Department gave the young rugby supporters the chance to sit in on Fiji’s afternoon training session.

The Pacific Islanders are using the Exiles’ Hazelwood facility as their training base throughout the World Cup, with Wales also being based out of the Sunbury ground.

“This was a great chance to show the children what international standard training is like,” said London Irish Schools Manager, Oliver Heald.

“Hosting Fiji is a really exciting opportunity for London Irish and it is great to be able to give back to our local community with events like this.

“The After School Club is open to any primary school children and usually is an hour long tag rugby session but this was an opportunity too good to miss and the children all really enjoyed it.”

Make sure you never miss a minute of Word Cup action and get down to Hazelwood where all the games will be shown live on the big screen in the bar starting Friday 18th September for England versus Fiji from 6pm.
