Ben White believes London Irish are ‘building something special’, after the Exiles continued their fine form with victory against Pau on Saturday night.

Irish made it five wins in a row and six unbeaten in all competitions thanks to a solid European Challenge Cup display in France.

Speaking after Irish ran out 33-17 winners, White said: “We’ve got a really good group here and we feel we’re building something special.

“I think performance wise we were slightly off the boil a bit, and left a couple of chances out there.

“But to get a five point win in France is a job well done.

“We took the chances when they came our way and were deserving winners in the end.

“But we know there’s still a lot for us to improve on as a group - and we can definitely polish it up and strive to be better.”

White and his team-mates host Brive next in the Challenge Cup on Sunday and the scrum-half is eager to end the year on a high at the BCS.

“I think every team you come up against in this competition poses a challenge - they’re all top sides,” he said.

“We need to take focus of the challenge that lies ahead of us this week now.

“We’ll review where we can improve from the Pau game and look to give another good account of ourselves this weekend against Brive.

“We’re excited to get back to the BCS and put on another show for the Irish crowd.”
