Ben White has been included in Gregor Townsend’s Scotland squad to face Argentina this Saturday (2nd July).

In the first test of a three-match series, White has been named amongst Townsend’s finishers for the game held at the Estadio 23 de Agosto and could be in line for his fifth Scotland cap.

White earned his first appearance in a packed-out Murrayfield during the 2022 Guinness Six Nations match against England, scoring in a 30-minute cameo with the home side winning 20-17.

All three of the other appearances for the scrum-half came during that Six Nations tournament, becoming part of what was a special first season in west London.

He signed with Irish at the start of the 2021/22 season and made 25 appearances in green, scoring tries in a comeback draw at home to Sale Sharks and in an away victory over Harlequins, amongst three others.

White could feature against another Irish contingent in the Argentine camp, with Agustín Creevy making a triumphant homecoming to the squad after three years alongside 2021 acquisitions Lucio Cinti and Juán Martín Gonzalez.

Scotland got their summer tour of South America off to a positive start, with their A side comprehensively overcoming Chile 45-5 at the Estadio Santa Laura Universidad Sek.

Following Saturday’s fixture, Scotland’s schedule progresses to the second test taking place at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena on 9th July (ko 8.10pm BST) and concluding on 16th July at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades (ko 8.10pm BST).

Massive congratulations, Ben!
