London Irish have today announced a partnership with Tourism Ireland, the official tourism promotion organisation for the island of Ireland, to become a Marketing Partner of the Club.
Tourism Ireland was established under the framework of the Belfast Agreement of Good Friday 1998. They are jointly funded by the Irish Government and the Northern Ireland Executive on a two to one ratio, and operate with the backing of the North/South Ministerial Council through the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment in Northern Ireland and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport in the South.
Tourism Ireland's role is to grow overseas tourism revenue and visitor numbers to the island of Ireland. They devise and deliver world-class marketing programmes in over 20 markets across the world and work in close co-operation with industry partners in Ireland as well as with the travel trade, online operators, media, air and sea carriers overseas to encourage consumers to visit Ireland.
London Irish Commercial Director, Jim O’Toole said: “As the premier Irish sports brand in the UK, we are proud that Tourism Ireland has chosen London Irish as a marketing partner. This is a mutually beneficial partnership for both organisations and we look forward to working with Tourism Ireland on joint promotional marketing campaigns across the season.”
Tourism Ireland spokesperson said: “Our partnership will enable us to work with London Irish on marketing initiatives to raise our brand profile amongst the London Irish audience and what we do across the whole of the UK.
