Topsy Ojo rekindles memories of the St Patrick’s Party

Topsy Ojo is relishing the St Patrick’s Party clash against Gloucester at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday 24 March (kick-off 3pm).

The iconic fixture, which is now into its 17 ^th year, will see a feast of entertainment swooping into the Madejski Stadium to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day.

Back in contention for selection following an injury lay-off, Ojo is raring to go and says the St Patrick’s Party is the perfect way to continue the annual spring-time celebrations.

“The St Patrick’s Party is one of the highlights of the London Irish calendar and I’m really looking forward to what is a huge game for us,” said Ojo, 32.       

“It’s a great occasion and I’ve played in quite a few of them, which has been an amazing experience. I’ve loved every single one of the games that I’ve been involved in and for those guys that will experience the St Patrick’s Party for the first time, it will be an occasion to savour.”

The Supporters’ Village opens at 12 noon with a host of activities for all ages, a variety of food and drink stalls and live music on the stage to get the party going. There will also be a prize for the best dressed supporter so dig out your shamrock glasses and leprechaun hats!

Ojo is keen to encourage as many people to continue the St Patrick’s Day celebrations, saying: “Whether you’re a rugby fan or not, just come and enjoy the day and have a really good party. The boys will do their best to put in a good performance and feed off the fantastic atmosphere.”
