London Irish announced this morning (11th February) that it has released Tom Homer from the final months of his contract as a result of a request from the player who has signed for Bath Rugby for the 2015/16 season.

Commenting on the decision to release the player, London Irish Operations Director Bob Casey said, “Having had a number of meetings with Tom about a new contract, it was clear that he wanted to move on.  We have plenty of cover in the back three with talented players like Andrew Fenby, Alex Lewington and Topsy Ojo so we are able to agree to Tom’s request for early release.  We have also signed a top class full back in Sean Maitland for the 2015/16 season. We would like to thank Tom for all he has done for the Club and wish him all the best for the future.”

Tom Homer said, “I would like to thank everyone at London Irish for the opportunity they have given me to become a professional rugby player.  I would also like to thank the supporters for their encouragement during the time I’ve been here.  I wish the Club all the best for the future.”
