London Irish Head Coach, Tom Coventry said his side need to ‘learn from our mistakes’ following Saturday evening’s defeat to Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.

The Exiles were beaten 38-11 by the West Country outfit and this week start preparing for Saturday’s trip to Allianz Park to face current Aviva Premiership Champions Saracens.

“We were disappointing”, said London Irish Head Coach, Coventry of his sides performance on Saturday. “I thought Exeter were good. They were physical, expansive and put in a proud performance. Everything went their way and most of due to their hard work and good play.”

For Irish there are aspects to work on ahead of a trip to Saracens. The North London Club come into the match off the back of a 15-17 victory away against Gloucester.

“At the end of the day we weren’t good enough to hang in there and curb their momentum which was disappointing. We will have to take a leaf out of their book for this week. We will have to take stock, we were beaten by a much better side and we will learn from our mistakes.”

The Exiles have a good record against their London rivals in recent years and most notably came away with a 22-13 win at Allianz Park in February 2014.
