• Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series starts on Thursday 20 August
• Final to be staged at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday 28 August

• It has been agreed for the Welsh Regions to enter the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series for the second year with an announcement on a Welsh date and venue to follow.
"The 7s Series kicked off in 2010 and since then it has become a significant date in the rugby calendar,” said the Rugby Director at Premiership Rugby, Phil Winstanley.
"Twelve months before rugby returns to the Olympics – in Rio – it is crucial that Premiership Rugby continues to lead the way when it comes to club 7s. This will be an important competition and will start a run-in to the Olympic Games when rugby will be firmly in the world spotlight.”
Last season the Welsh Regions made their debut in the competition which was won by Gloucester Rugby, coached by Olly Morgan.
"We were delighted to lift the Premiership Rugby 7s trophy last summer, kicking the season off with the first silverware, and we are looking forward to defending our title this summer," said Morgan.
"Sevens gives our young players an opportunity to express themselves and experience rugby on a big stage so we see it as an invaluable part of their development.
"This year we are again looking forward to hosting a Group stage event of the new Singha Premiership Rugby 7s. Last year more than 10,000 people came to Kingsholm for a great night of 7s and I am sure it will be the same this year."
