London Irish is excited to announce that its 2016 St Patrick’s Jersey has been designed by world renowned Irish designer, Orla Kiely.

The Orla Kiely brand is famous for its instantly recognisable signature retro prints with endorsements from leading personalities like the Duchess of Cambridge, Keira Knightly and Alexa Chung.

While the brand is well known for its collaborations with major brands in kitchenware, stationary and furniture, this venture with London Irish will be its first in sport.

This Orla Kiely inspired jersey, which will be worn for fixtures against Saracens in the USA on the 12th March and for the St Patrick’s Day game on the 20th March against Gloucester at Madejski Stadium, will be launched early next month.

The launch will also tie in with World Cancer Day, an initiative the Club is supporting through its official charity partner, Cancer Research UK, whose logo will feature on the St Patrick’s jersey.

Orla Kiely commented, “I was delighted to accept the invitation to design the London Irish St Patrick’s jersey. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of something different and I wish the Club much success this season and beyond.”

Bob Casey, Chief Executive of London Irish said, “The Club is pleased to have partnered with Orla Kiely to design this season’s St Patrick’s Day jersey. March is an important month for us with our ground-breaking fixture in the USA as well as our 15th St Patrick’s Day game. To have a shirt exclusively designed by Orla will make these important fixtures even more special.”
