England Touch headed to Malaysia to take part in the Touch Rugby World Cup 2019, with a total of 10 teams taking part.

London Irish analyst Will Serocold has been training for the competition for many months and was an integral part of the Men’s Open team that finished a highly respectable 5th place.

Serocold’s side won six matches, including victories over Scotland, Fiji, Samoa, South Africa, Singapore and Philippines. The team drew against Japan before losing out to Australia to narrowly miss out on a semi-final.

Finishing the tournament on a high, England Touch defeated Philippines in the 5th/6th playoff fixture.

“Everyone has worked so hard to get to where we are today and I’m so proud to be a part of it” said Serocold.

“To only lose one game at a World Cup is a great achievement and we’re unlucky not to have made the semi-final, only missing out on points difference.”

“For a growing sport, it was great to see so much coverage on the tournament and I’m really grateful for the support that I have received from London Irish!”

Congratulations to Will and everyone involved with England Touch!
