Ride the Rugby with London Irish Women RFC

London Irish Women RFC, sponsored by Lovell, invite you to join them for a Ride the Rugby cycle event, offering two routes around the Surrey area, starting and finishing at Hazelwood, the home of London Irish.

The event - which takes place on Sunday 3rd April - marks the launch of an exciting new chapter for London Irish Women RFC, working with partners such as  Lovell to promote Women in Sport, Women in Construction and Women in Leadership.

The nominated charity partner for this event is Building Heroes who support Veterans and Women with a new career in the construction industry by equipping them with a broad range of trade skills and then connecting them with a network of employers.

Funds raised from the event will help London Irish Women contend for a place in the Premier 15s by 2023 and create both a sustainable Community and Elite rugby development pathway for Women and Girls.

Cyclists will ride in groups and be supported by experienced team captains as they undertake the route of their choice. The event takes place on the highway and is a ride not a race. The 30-mile route is relatively flat, while the 60-mile route offers greater changes in elevation.

All riders will receive an event cycling shirt. Upon returning to Hazelwood, there will be refreshments and the opportunity to watch/attend the London Irish v Harlequins Premiership game clash, at The Brentford Community Stadium.
