Theo Brophy Clews is looking for his side to build some momentum following Saturday’s 47-17 victory over Krasny Yar in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

The Exiles academy graduate, 20, scored four tries during a scintillating second half display against a Krasny Yar side which boasted 15 internationals.

Speaking post-match with his Heineken Man of the Match accolade in his hand, Brophy Clews said: “The second half was a lot of fun and we really came out firing after a close first half.

“I don’t get many tries so to score four in one game is great and full credit to the forwards for getting us good field position and setting the platform.”

Irish now gear up for the return fixture in Georgia on Saturday, the former England Under-20 international keen for his side to record back to back victories.

“We always speak about the momentum that a win can bring and hopefully we can take some form into the Anglo-Welsh Cup and then onto the Aviva Premiership in the next few weeks.”

London Irish’s next home game will be against Wasps in the Anglo-Welsh Cup on Saturday 27 January. Under 13s tickets are just £1 throughout the stadium with adults from £15 from www.lidirect.co.uk or by calling 0118 968 1016 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to noon).
