Points machine Tommy Bell admits his side’s comprehensive 62-12 Greene King IPA Championship victory over London Scottish has teed up next week’s clash with Yorkshire Carnegie perfectly.

The goal-kicking specialist, who made the switch from fly-half to full-back on Sunday, earned the Sky Sports man-of-the-match champagne with a sterling display.

Speaking to LITV post-match, Bell said: “I thought we were outstanding and our defence really set the tone – the whole pack were amazing and they managed to turn over plays effectively.

“That allowed us to play and I thought our set-piece went well. The backs are getting the credit for the performance, but the forwards were equally as good.”
