Premiership Rugby Under-18 Academy League fixtures confirmed

London Irish is pleased to confirm the proposed Premiership Rugby Under-18 Academy League fixtures for the Club’s under-18 side this season.

The joint 2019/20 champions return to action with an away trip to the West Country this Saturday (20^th), with Gloucester Rugby hosting the side as the league season kicks-off.

Irish resume action next Thursday (25^th) with their first home encounter, taking on local rivals Harlequins under-18s at the Hazelwood Centre in an evening kick-off (5.30pm).

The league billing takes a prolonged break until the new year, where the boys in green welcome Saracens under-18s and Bath Rugby under-18s to Sunbury in back-to-back games on the 7^th and 14^th January 2023, respectively.

Bristol Bears under-18s then take on Irish’s under-18 representatives on the weekend of 20^th/21^st/22^nd January 2023, with Exeter Chiefs under-18s awaiting the young Exiles at Truro College on the final day of the regular season on 4^th February 2023.

London Irish Academy Manager Patrick O’Grady spoke of his excitement in seeing the Academy juniors back on the field this Saturday.

“The Academy team as a whole have worked extremely hard over the summer and the benefits of running a full pre season programme are already coming to fruition ahead of this campaign,” O’Grady stated.

“Our time at the Malvern Festival last week presented us an opportunity to get valuable playing time across the squad as we rotated players, integrating them back in to their first game of the season.

“The boys are looking forward to the first League game of the season, Gloucester will present a difficult challenge but one which we are relishing."
