The #PoweringTheNHS campaign has, in its second week, seen volunteers from Powerday, Hazelwood and London Irish prepare and deliver over 4,000 meals to frontline NHS staff working in hospitals across London and the Thames Valley.

Hazelwood Centre General Manager, Fiona McHugh, has been overwhelmed by the number of people volunteering their time to help provide meals for front line staff working tirelessly across the capital.

“It has been an incredible team effort to get the food prepared, cooked and delivered and I’m immensely proud of the volunteers for their amazing support.

“Everyone is acutely aware of the sacrifices our doctors, nurses and care workers are making, and it has been so brilliant to see the passion our volunteers have shown to help provide meals to these heroes in the NHS.”

Blair Cowan, Matt Williams, Terrence Hepetema, Tom Parton, Jacob Atkins, Les Kiss, Motu Matu’u, Harry Elrington and Theo Brophy Clews have been out on delivery as the number of meals distributed in total across two weeks passed the 7,000 mark.

The #PoweringTheNHS team would like to thank Barratt Developments London for the sizable donation they have made to the campaign and also to the London Irish playing squad for their financial contribution.

North Middlesex Hospital, West Middlesex Hospital, Royal Berkshire Hospital, Ealing Hospital, Royal London Hospital, St Mary’s Paddington, St Georges Tooting, Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Watford General Hospital, St Luke’s Hospice, St Silas Church Islington, Hawkedale School, St Helliers Hospital, Goodridge Health Centre and Frimley Park Hospital have all received meals this week.
