London Irish and Powerday confirmed today (22nd August) that the recycling and environmental waste management group will continue as the principal sponsor of both the London Irish professional and amateur teams for the 2016/17 season.
This will be the fourth successive season that Powerday has been the club’s main sponsor with the groups’ logo featuring on the front of the club’s playing shirts and on branding at Madejski Stadium and Hazelwood.
For over a decade Powerday has also been an enthusiastic supporter of the successful London Irish Academy raising significant funds through its annual golf day and related activities.
Announcing the continuation of his group’s commercial partnership, Mick Crossan, Chairman of Powerday, said: “London Irish is a special club embracing both the professional and amateur game and with a strong capability in both. Competing in this season’s RFU Championship and National League 2 South will bring different challenges for both teams. We’re proud to renew our support for the club and its thriving Academy.”
London Irish Chief Executive, Bob Casey said: “Powerday is a loyal and effective partner of London Irish and we’re pleased that the group has decided to continue its association with the club for another season. This will be a demanding year and knowing that we have a committed main sponsor provides encouragement for all concerned. We’re grateful to Mick Crossan and his colleagues for their continued support.”
