London Irish 25-23 Sale Sharks

On this day five years ago, London Irish secured victory against Sale Sharks at the Madejski Stadium.

Irish scored three tries, two penalties and two conversions over the course of the afternoon, clinching victory by two points.

Chris Noakes scored two penalties in four minutes midway through the first half, and along with a Chris Fenby try converted by Noakes, helped ensure Irish were up 13-10 going in to the second half.

Alex Lewington grabbed a second-half brace for the Exiles and with one of them converted by Noakes, the fixture finished 25-23 to London Irish.
