London Irish’s top try-scorer this season, Ben Ransom is the latest player to have inked a new deal with the club.

Ransom, 25, joined the Exiles from reigning Aviva Premiership Champions Saracens last summer having helped the north London club to three Premiership titles and a European Rugby Champions Cup.

Dotting down nine times for Irish this season, Ransom has added a lethal touch to the Exiles’ attacking game and his brace against Cornish Pirates in the St Patrick’s Party fixture went some way to helping Irish to top spot in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Representing England at every age group, Ransom was part of the Under-20s Six Nations Grand Slam-winning side of 2011.

While plying his trade at Saracens under the watchful eye of Brendan Venter, Ransom was initially dual registered with Championship side Bedford Blues. Helping the Blues reach the Championship play-off final in 2013, Ransom’s knowledge of English rugby’s second tier has been vital.

“I’ve really enjoyed working under the management structure headed up by Nick Kennedy,” said Ransom.

“London Irish is a huge club with lots of potential and I’m delighted to have extended my contract.

“It’s important that we build on the platform that we’ve set ourselves and take each game at a time.”

Director of Rugby Nick Kennedy said: “Ben has been a great addition to the squad and has impressed when given game time. He’s improving his game week in, week out and his tries for us this season have been crucial.”

London Irish's next home game is against Rotherham Titans at 3pm on 8 April. Tickets are available from 0118 968 1016 or click here to purchase online.
