Lucio Cinti has signed a new contract with London Irish, the Club can confirm today.
The 22-year-old back has committed his future to Declan Kidney’s team at the Hazelwood Centre this week to continue his time as an Exile.
Cinti, one of five capped Argentina internationals in the current senior squad at Irish, made west London his home midway through the 2021/22 season alongside compatriot Juan Martín González.
Earning 13 senior international caps so far, Cinti has shown his value to at Club level in the course of his two seasons with Irish, equally adept in midfield as well as across the outside back three positions.
He has since made 27 appearances for Irish and has also scored six tries, including a brace against Newcastle Falcons this term and a maiden score in the Heineken Champions Cup against Montpellier Hérault.
London Irish Director of Rugby Declan Kidney highlighted the development of the youngster in his time as an Irish player.
“I think Lucio’s growth in his time so far with us has been there for all to see, he has really come along a great deal in his capabilities as a player and a teammate.
“He has a had a healthy contingent of fellow countrymen to help him adapt to life here in London, but he has also been welcomed as an Exile by supporters and the Club alike.”
Lucio Cinti thanked the team at London Irish for the opportunity to continue his rugby journey in the capital.
“I have really enjoyed being here at London Irish, I have been given an opportunity to improve alongside brilliant coaches and players,” he said.
“I am very thankful for that and playing in big competitions in Europe has always been a dream, so I look forward to helping bring success to this Club.”
