The London Irish U18 Academy have been busy throughout December and January with a number of fixtures against four Premiership Academy sides.
A 36-20 win against the Exeter Chiefs Academy in December and two well-contested fixtures with Harlequins and Saracens have shown the quality that the young Exiles possess.
On Saturday 19 January, a clinical display saw the London Irish Academy tally up an impressive 10 tries against Bristol in a 62-12 win at Hazelwood.
With two remaining fixtures for the under-18’s this season, academy manager Patrick O’Grady is pleased with the progression he’s seen from the youngsters.
“The lads have been brilliant so far this season” said O’Grady.
“We had great wins against Exeter and Bristol, but we were impressed with how the squad reacted to the defeats against Harlequins and Saracens.
“They have shown mature heads and have the desire to improve on their performances, which is exactly what we want to see.”
The London Irish Academy are next in action on Saturday 2 February against Gloucester at the Hazelwood Centre (kick-off 12pm). Anyone is free to come and watch the game, so come down and cheer on the next generation of Exiles!
