London Irish have arranged a friendly against Coventry Rugby to be played at Hazelwood on Monday 15 October (kick-off 7pm).

With the Exiles no longer being a part of a formal A League competition, director of rugby Declan Kidney is keen for his squad to gain valuable game time.

To achieve this, Kidney has been lending players to Premiership clubs to play in the Premiership Rugby Shield, with four London Irish players representing three different clubs in the competition last night alone. London Irish also stepped in to play Northampton Wanderers last week after Wasps cancelled their Premiership Rugby Shield fixture, a game which saw the Exiles come away with a hard-fought 29-26 win.

On top of this, the club are arranging a series of friendlies to be played throughout the season, the first being a visit from Coventry Rugby on Monday 15 October.

The game will kick-off at 7pm at the Exiles’ training ground Hazelwood in Sunbury. The game will be free to attend with parking available at a first come first served basis. The Hazelwood bar will be open from 6pm to 7pm for Season Ticket holders and Members where London Irish first team players will be present.

London Irish's next Greene King IPA Championship game is against Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday 13 October at the Madejski Stadium, with tickets available from www.lidirect.co.uk or by calling 0118 968 1016.
