Last night, London Irish HITZ were nominated for three awards across a possible four categories at the annual HITZ Awards.

London Irish HITZ uses the core rugby values to improve the personal lives and employability skills of disadvantaged young people, which underpin success in education and work. It uses the inspiration of professional rugby union and its role models to motivate and build a brighter future. 

Among the extremely worthy nominees, London Irish HITZ finished with Eric Harris the runner-up in the Young Achiever of the Year category and George Herbert finished runner-up in the Rugby Ambassador category. Ross Ferguson won the Champion Award category to further emphasise the work that the London Irish HITZ programme delivers.

Ross, General Manager at Holiday Inn Shepperton, worked in tangent with London Irish HITZ to provide the students with work experience across the various department within the hotel.

“I am so proud of all the London Irish HITZ students and those nominated at the HITZ Awards” said Ainsley Campbell, London Irish HITZ Officer.

“They have worked very hard all year, especially with their work placement at the Holiday Inn.”
