London Irish have agreed a long-term partnership with 9 Group, a leading independent business telecommunications and IT services provider. 9 Group will provide London Irish with IT and telecommunications support throughout their business, including the move into the new Brentford Community Stadium in 2020.
Established in 2001, by CEO, James Palmer, 9 Group continues to provide a range of traditional fixed and mobile voice services to business customers, but they have expanded that portfolio in recent years, offering a suite of data connectivity and IT services as well as developing their own cloud communications platform called “eve.”
Employing over 200 staff at three main locations, 9 Group provides services to over 100,000 customers and process over 1.5 billion minutes of telephony every year.
No stranger to sport, 9 Group appointed four new brand ambassadors last year from across the world of British sport to reflect the ‘Free to Perform’ ethos of the company. With CEO James Palmer’s passion for sport and rugby in particular, the partnership with London Irish is a natural fit for both parties.
The agreement will see the 9 Group logo feature on the right chest of London Irish’s home and away kit, as well as branding throughout the stadium and on the coaching staff’s IT equipment.
“We are delighted to have forged a partnership with 9 Group, a company who are a leader in their field which mirrors the ambition of London Irish,” said Brian Facer, CEO.
“London Irish is expanding both on and off the field and with the stadium move on the horizon it is pivotal that we have IT and telecommunications support from a company that we know and trust to see us through such big changes.
“We look forward to welcoming them to the London Irish family and working closely with them over the coming years.”
Palmer was equally enthusiastic about the new relationship, saying “9 Group and London Irish share a sense of ambition and the drive to succeed.
"I have been a long term advocate of the links between business and sporting achievement, so this is a natural partnership for me. We look forward to working with London Irish over the coming years and enjoying Premiership rugby at their new stadium in due course.”
