London Irish are back in action for their first game of the New Year on Sunday 5 January when Exeter Chiefs are the visitors at the Madejski Stadium (kick-off 2.30pm).

The fixture is designated as London Irish’s Kids Day, with fun activities for youngsters including inflatables, games and giveaways in Digger’s Dugout, as well as a balloon modelling masterclass with Tricky the Twister. London Irish first team players will be in Digger’s Dugout for autographs and photos.

After the match there will be music from Ronan MacManus in the Club Room as well as Q&A’s with players and coaches.

As part of the Kids Day, there is an opportunity for a number of junior Exiles supporters to get involved with the running of a London Irish match day.

Four roles will be up for grabs for kids aged between 6 and 12-years-old to give them an exclusive glimpse behind the scenes at the Madejski:

Mascot

Lead the team onto the pitch alongside the captain with a photo taken moments before kick-off. The mascot will feature in the match day programme, be introduced to the crowd before the game and go home with a London Irish home shirt.

Team announcer

The team announcer will be in amongst the action in the build up to the game as they stand pitch side with the announcer and floor manager. Around 10 minutes before kick-off, they will read out the London Irish team to the whole stadium!

Media manager

The media manager role is perfect for the young supporter who is confident in front of the camera as they will be interviewing a London Irish player or coach in the build up to the game to be posted on the club’s official media channels!

Match reporter

The match reporter role is perfect for a young rugby fan with a good knowledge of the game, as they will watch the match closely from the media gantry alongside the visiting journalists and write a summary which will be posted on the official London Irish website.

If your child would be interested in applying for one of our Kids Day roles, please email [email protected] with their name, age, contact information and the reason that they would like to take on the role. The deadline to apply is midnight on Wednesday 1 January and the successful candidates will be contacted on Thursday 2 January.
