London Irish faced Wasps in the A League last night. The Exiles fielded a team which featured many Academy players and although the game turned into a one sided affair for Wasps, it provided these young players with an opportunity to get more game time under their belt.

The first half saw Wasps run in four unanswered tries, with a half time score of 0 – 24.

Despite a tough opening half, Irish started the second half strongly with AASE player Connor Hayhow receiving an excellent pass of Conor Murphy to dive in at the corner with Christian Lewis-Pratt.

The fight back was to be short lived, however, with Wasps collecting a further two tries in the game to leave a final score of 7 – 36.
