Four London Irish academy products played for their dual registered clubs at the weekend.

Tom Parton (Henley), Jacob Atkins (Redingensians RFC), Jack Cooke (London Irish Wild Geese) and Todd Gleave (Rosslyn Park) all benefited from game time as they continue their development with the Exiles.

Skills coach Paul Hodgson gives his verdict on the quartet:

“Tom Parton appeared for Henley in their 30-22 win over Worthing. I was pleased with his performance, especially the ability he is showing to dictate the play and get his team on the front foot. Coupled with this, he scored a very good try which is a nice confidence boost that he can take into next week.

“Jacob played in Redingensians defeat at the hands of Canterbury in an intense mid table clash, 31-27. His distribution was impressive on the weekend, which enabled his team mates to find space and create opportunities.

“Defensively I thought he put in another strong display, and following on from last week he achieved six out of seven kicks which now makes him 19 out of 21 for the past three weeks. In total, this is a 90% success ratio which is excellent.

“Jack Cooke gained valuable game time for the London Irish Wild Geese again this week in their 49-22 defeat to Taunton Titans. Against strong opposition, his chop tackling was a highlight for me again as he maintained the intensity he showed last week.

“Todd gained important game time for Rosslyn Park in their 45-34 win over Flyde as he continues his development here at the club.”
