London Irish Academy graduates Will Joseph and Tom Pearson have been retained in the England squad in preparation for their first Autumn Nations Series challenge against Argentina.

Los Pumas travel to Twickenham Stadium this Sunday (6th, 2.15pm ko) in the first of the November internationals for Eddie Jones’ team, their last meeting coming in a 39-10 victory for England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Pearson and Joseph were included in Jones’ squad based in a training camp in Jersey last week, a vindication of their early season efforts for the Boys in Green.

Irish’s back-row forward, who joined the Club last season as part of the Senior Academy, was called up to take part in several training camps last term and has continued his form into this season as one of the Gallagher Premiership’s highest tacklers.

Will Joseph’s second season involved in the senior side crescendoed to a first England cap alongside Henry Arundell in England’s tour of Australia having impressed on the domestic and continental stages for Declan Kidney’s outfit.

Arundell, who joined Pearson and Joseph in Jersey over the last week, will continue his rehabilitation with the England set-up this week following an injury against Gloucester Rugby in Round 7 of the Gallagher Premiership.

The national side’s autumn schedule then continues at Twickenham against Japan (12th, 3.15pm ko), then New Zealand (19th, 5.30 pm ko) and finishing with a match-up against reigning world champions, South Africa (26th, 5.30 pm ko).

The match will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime Sport this Sunday.

Huge congratulations boys!
