London Irish scooped a gold medal at the prestigious ‘Transform Awards Europe’ in London last night.

Celebrating the transformative power of branding and rebranding across Europe in the last 12 months, the 2021 Transform Awards Europe reflect the agencies and creative teams exhibiting exemplary work in brand strategy and development.

London Irish won gold in the ‘Best visual identity from the sports, travel, leisure and tourism sector’ category, in recognition for our work with our Brand partners UnitedUs.

London Irish were in good company on the night, with fellow winners including HSBC, MasterCard, Network Rail, KFC and Commonwealth Sport.

Reflecting on the news, Ian Taylor, London Irish’s Marketing & Communications Director, said: “It’s amazing for our work with UnitedUs to be recognised with this visual identity award.

“The London Irish brand has really evolved over the last 12-18 months - in conjunction with our move back to the capital - so to receive recognition for our efforts in such a prestigious awards ceremony is a just reward for everyone’s hard work and dedication.

“This project is still very much in its infancy and we’re excited about continuing to grow the  London Irish brand as we welcome back supporters to the Brentford Community Stadium for the 2021/22 season and beyond.”

Luke Taylor, Partner and Co-founder at UnitedUs, said: “We are incredibly proud to win this highly coveted European brand award with the fantastic team at London Irish. Great brands are built by impassioned teams and courageous clients and that is certainly true of our collaboration with this incredible rugby club.

“The club has been on an exciting trajectory over the past few years with the return to London and the building of a young and dynamic team for the future, and it's a pleasure to create a brand that will grow in recognition and notoriety supporting the team. As long-term brand partner for London Irish, winning this award so early in our relationship will embolden our aspirations and creative inspiration for the future.

“I am so pleased for all the team at London Irish who've placed such faith in us, and been courageous in their decisions to deliver dynamic brand campaigns during a difficult time – congratulations to you all!"

Andrew Thomas, publishing editor of Transform magazine and founder of the Transform Awards, said: “Despite the challenges of Covid this has been a record year for the Transform Awards. The changes Covid has brought aren’t just economic. We face a major recalibration of the way we relate to the brands, the businesses, the organisations that touch our lives. We have an unprecedented challenge ahead of us, but the work entered in the Transform Awards highlights, once more, the strategic insight and phenomenal creativity of the agencies and in-house teams.”
