Irish to face Jersey in pre-season friendly

London Irish can confirm their opening pre-season fixture against Jersey Reds will take place at Stade Santander International on Saturday 27 August (kick-off time to be confirmed).

The Exiles will travel over the Channel in preparation for the 2022/23 campaign, with the west Londoners now having qualified for the Heineken Champions Cup for the first time in over a decade.

Harvey Biljon’s team beat Cornish Pirates at home on their way to their first top four finish in the RFU Championship for the first time since 2019 this season, their best points haul in the Championship to date.

Having also led Reds to the Championship Cup semi-final before crashing out to Coventry, Biljon himself recently confirmed the extension of his stay in Jersey to the summer of 2029.
