London Irish has been busy helping the local hospitals, supporters and key workers, thanks to the club’s Community team.

The team, whose regular delivery schedule has been halted due to the coronavirus, have been assisting the elderly, helping local businesses and NHS staff by delivering essentials and uplifting goodies!

With a generously donated budget and donations from local shops, the team managed to create and deliver gift baskets full of Irish themed snacks and essentials to elderly London Irish Season Ticket holders, the London Irish Centre and those who are in isolation.

Working with the Hummingbird Bakery, the London Irish Community team helped deliver their goods and, in return, took payment in the form of cupcakes, brownies and slices of cake! The team then delivered these to NHS staff at the Teddington Memorial Medical Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, West Middlesex Hospital, Charring Cross Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, Harlow Hospital, Broadmoor Hospital and Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital.

The generosity of the Hummingbird Bakery continued and, on their last day before closing for isolation, they added more to the already substantial amount of donations. This ensured that the Community team could deliver cakes to key workers at Kenyngton Manor Primary School, St Ignatius Primary School, Reach Academy, Turing House School, St Paul’s Catholic College and the Feltham branch of the Salvation Army.

We would like to thank the Hummingbird Bakery for their brilliant donations and allowing us to put a smile on the faces of those who are in need and the amazing NHS staff!
