Formidable winger Joe Cokanasiga, is thriving under the pressures of playing first team rugby and is relishing the prospect of more game time against Cornish Pirates this Sunday in the British and Irish Cup (kick-off 3pm).
The Fijian-born flyer, who has been training with England Under-20’s this week, is under no illusions at the task in hand with back-to-back cup matches against the Pirates.
“It’s going to be a tricky couple of weeks against a very physical Pirates outfit, but first and foremost we are fully focussed on this weekend’s game.
“Cornish Pirates will be looking to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Richmond last week, so we are certainly going to be in for a game.
“We will need to match them physically and then execute the things that we are good at in order to get the result that we want,” said Cokanasiga.
The Exiles have already broken the club record for number of games unbeaten, the previous run being 10 during the 2008/09 season. Looking to make it 14 wins out of 14 on Sunday, Cokanasiga is keen to continue the winning feeling.
“Of course, there is a really good feel throughout the club at present and as a squad we are keen to keep this run going,” said the promising winger, a try-scorer in last weekend’s 38-10 win at Rotherham Titans.
“To score two tries in last week’s game to keep our winning run going was especially pleasing and it’s important that we approach today’s game in the same way we approached the previous game,” he added.
