Over the weekend, two bright young Exiles were showing off their talent on the international stage as both Ben Loader and Ollie Hassell-Collins got the chance to pull on an England jersey in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

A product of London Irish’s AASE programme, Hassell-Collins was part of the England Sevens squad that took part in the HSBC Paris Sevens tournament. The winger scored two tries during the competition, including a score in the 52-7 victory over Japan, helping the side make the challenge trophy semi-final.

Eventually succumbing to a 41-28 semi-final defeat to Canada, the youthful England Sevens squad showed courage and character when pitting themselves against some of the best Sevens outfits on the circuit.

Meanwhile, Loader proudly stepped out on the Twickenham turf as part of the England XV squad to take on the Barbarians.

A thrilling encounter ended 51-43 in favour of England as Loader added the Quilter Cup to his honours list.

The winger came off the bench on 66 minutes to get his first taste of international rugby against an experienced Barbarians team.
