I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our players, coaches, staff, directors and supporters a very Happy Easter.

The global coronavirus pandemic has inflicted an extremely challenging disruption and enormous changes to the daily lives of us all.

Despite this unprecedented adversity, my extreme thanks goes out to all those selfless volunteers who are supporting the Powerday/London Irish #PoweringTheNHS initiative using the Hazelwood chefs and facilities for preparing, packaging and delivery of nutritious meals to NHS front line doctors, nurses and care workers and to those carrying out essential life-saving roles. It is gratifying to note that over 7,000 of the targeted 100,000 meals have been delivered in the last two weeks to 15 NHS Hospitals and 4 Palliative Care Homes.

I would also wish to acknowledge the terrific work being undertaken by the additional London Irish volunteer team in collaboration with Spelthorne Council for the delivery of food, medication and other essential supplies to the elderly and vulnerable within the local Sunbury Community.

In the words of Her Majesty, the Queen - “Better days will return: we will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again.”

Thank you for all your support, shining a light over these dark days.

May you all, with your families and friends alike, keep well and safe.
