London Irish announced today (24 February) that a “Farewell Madejski End of Season Dinner” will take place at the stadium on Friday 22 May.

The dinner is in aid of the club’s official charity, the London Irish Foundation.  All proceeds of the evening will go directly to the Foundation to enable it to continue to deliver projects that use the power of sport to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of less fortunate individuals.

To celebrate the culmination of London Irish’s 20 years in Reading, celebrity chef Stephane Delourme, Group Head Chef at Rick Stein restaurants, will be designing a bespoke, three course menu for the evening.

This London Irish event, in the Thames Valley, will be sponsored by Worldwide Financial Planning, one of this country’s leading independent financial advisers and is not to be missed.

Peter McGahan, Chief Executive of Worldwide Financial Planning, and Stephane Delourme have known each other for 20 years and have arranged a number of high-profile charity events, in different formats, through their association. Peter’s relationship with Stephane has enabled the French, Michelin star chef to delight guests with his culinary expertise.

The full London Irish playing squad and coaching staff will be in attendance with the “Players’ Player of the Year” award to be presented at the dinner.

London Irish Chief Executive, Brian Facer said: “We are delighted to be hosting this Farewell Madejski Dinner and that the club’s Foundation can directly benefit from the proceeds raised on the evening. I would also like to thank Peter and Stephane for their invaluable support in making this event possible.”

Andy Keast, Chief Executive of the London Irish Foundation said, “As the club’s official charity, we are delighted that the Foundation will benefit from what promises to be a memorable evening.  Peter and Stephane have been impressed by the work of the Foundation and want to help ensure we have the resources to continue with our projects which are making a real difference to the lives of so many people, both children and adults. We look forward to working with all parties on this special event.”
