Fainga’a relishing battle up front with Bath

London Irish host Bath Rugby at the Madejski Stadium this Sunday 22 December in the club’s Christmas Gallagher Premiership fixture (kick-off 3pm).

Australia hooker Saia Fainga’a is excited by the battle upfront in what will be a crucial battle in the context of the match.

“It is always exciting to play Bath, every time we come up against them it is always a tough game” said the former Australia forward.

“They have a big pack and we know they are going to come hard at set piece time, we are looking forward to the challenge. It has been good having the exposure against Toulon and coming up against the powers of their big pack, so for us we are well prepared and excited for game day.

The London Irish Christmas fixture is always a date in the diary that the squad look forward to when the fixtures were released in July, 22 December was a stand-out match.

“Around Christmas time there is always a bit of a buzz, for the families it is always a great time to come out and support the team.

“With Christmas Day coming up soon, it is a great reason to come up with friends and family and have a great day out.”
