London Irish has today confirmed that Allan Dell will be joining the club ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Dell, a 26-year-old prop forward, is a 2017 British and Irish Lions tourist whose selection for the tour of New Zealand followed a string of impressive performances in his first season of international rugby.

He was an ever-present player in the Scotland match day squad throughout the 2018 Autumn Internationals, increasing his tally of international caps to 17, and is racking up the appearances for an Edinburgh team that is leading its Heineken Champions Cup pool as well as chasing a place in the Pro 14 play-offs.

Director of rugby Declan Kidney says that Dell will be a strong addition to the London Irish squad.

“We have a strong set of forwards at Hazelwood, but we know that we need to bring in players in key areas to strengthen the group,” he said. “Allan is a player who has experience at the highest level with Edinburgh, Scotland and the Lions, and will this will add value to our squad.”

London Irish's next home game is against Jersey Reds on Sunday 27 January, kick-off 1.45pm. Tickets are available to purchase from ticketing.londonirish.net or by calling 0118 968 1016.
