The London Irish Community team recently hosted the annual Land Rover Defender Premiership Cup at the Hazelwood Centre.

Taking place on Sunday 16th October, the team helped organise the tournament in Sunbury which saw tens of under-11 and under-12 youth sides competing for the coveted prize.

On the day, 32 teams descended on south-west London to partake in the event in a fantastic showcase of youth rugby of all abilities and talents.

The Club would like to thank the Hazelwood Centre team for their cooperation and support for facilitating yet another successful tournament.

London Irish Head of Community Mathew Heeks reflected on another successful outing in association with Land Rover.

“I would like to thank everyone that attended the Land Rover Defender Premiership Cup event at Hazelwood last weekend,” Heeks said.

“It was a delight to see everyone at the event, all participants had a wonderful time and it was a pleasure to see our Community team aid in the development of so many talented young rugby players.

“The standard of rugby on the day was very impressive, myself and the team were thoroughly impressed with all the teams that entered.

“On behalf of the Community team at London Irish, I would like to wish all the teams the best and look forward to seeing you all soon!”
