Liam Kearney, Board Member at London Irish's training ground Hazelwood and Managing Director at Principle sponsor Powerday, took over as Chair of the London Darkness into Light charity last year, and is looking for help to raise awareness of this fantastic charity.

Darkness into Light works with leading UK based charity icap to support those who have been impacted by mental health and suicide. This charity is extremely relevant today as people navigate through the challenges of coming out of lockdown, and the devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. icap also support The Powerday Foundation in their ‘Sam’s Listening’ campaign where they promote the icap support line into London Boxing clubs.

More people than ever before are relying on the lifesaving services that various charities provide free of charge, to those in suicidal distress, those who are self-harming and those who have been bereaved by suicide. But there is hope.

You can help keep these essential services available to those who need them most, especially during these uncertain times. The gift you donate today could mean that one more call can be answered to someone in suicidal distress, one more person can get the help they need, when they need it, and one more family can be spared from the devastating heartbreak of suicide.

We are delighted that organised walks are back. After two years when we could not gather together to walk from the Darkness into the Light, this year we welcome you to join us at either of the two walks, Hazelwood or Cricklewood, at 4.15am.

We will gather to remember all those that we have lost to suicide and hope that each of us by walking, running, hiking, swimming can be the power to be a light against the dark.

No matter how you choose to take part this year, you’ll be giving the gift of hope to those in your community in suicidal crisis, or self-harming.
