The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism has extended its official partnership with London Irish.

Having joined the Club’s commercial portfolio back in September, the new deal will once again see the Visit Cayman Islands logo appear on the Exiles’ match kit, on the right chest of the jersey.

London Irish CEO, Mark Bensted, said: “We are delighted that Cayman Islands Department of Tourism are extending their partnership with the Club into the 2021/22 season.

“We’re excited about the various marketing and community activation opportunities that we will be able to roll out this season, as we prepare to return to normal times at the Brentford Community Stadium.”

A British Overseas Territory, the Cayman Islands are located in the western Caribbean Sea, south of Cuba and north west of Jamaica. Comprising three islands, all offer something special from the barefoot elegance of Grand Cayman, adventurous spirit of Cayman Brac to the tranquillity of Little Cayman.

Well known for dining, world-class diving, beautiful beaches, tranquil turquoise seas and incredible wildlife, the Cayman Islands offer a memorable and luxurious experience for visitors of all ages and interests. Visitors can watch the sun rise with the stingrays, explore spectacular coral reefs, relax on a beach hammock and eat at a five-star restaurant – all in one day.

Local Caymanians are no strangers to rugby either, with the Cayman Rugby Union a full member of World Rugby and Rugby North America.

Adrian White, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism UK & Europe Regional Manager, commented: “We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership for a second season. Despite the uncertainty of the past year, we have been delighted to see London Irish excel this season and it has been a pleasure to watch their progress on TV whilst we have been in a tough winter lockdown. As crowds return, we look forward to sharing the match day excitement in the stadium and working with the Club to create some Caribbean fun for the fans in the 2021/22 season.”

He added: “When the time is right, we hope to welcome London Irish players and supporters to the Cayman Islands – to experience first-hand Caymanian hospitality, our stunning white-sand beaches, unique wildlife and the natural beauty of the islands. Not forgetting the chance to watch rugby being played against a clear blue Caribbean sky.”
