This week, London Irish will be bringing you in-depth content to get you more familiar with our new home – the Brentford Community Stadium.

Today, we will be getting a better understanding of the pitch that the Exiles will be playing on from the start of the 2020/21 season!

The Brentford Community Stadium has a pitch made from a mix of synthetic fibres and naturally grown grass. The Desso Grassmaster pitch is a hybrid grass system that is 5% artificial fibres and 95% grass, considered the perfect combination for professional pitches.

The pitch has been renovated as recently as August to ensure that it has had plenty of time to bind the natural grass with the artificial fibres. The same pitch type is used at both Twickenham and Wembley!

The field allows for a playing surface of up to 109 x 70m including the in-goal area, which runs right up to the perimeter boards, meaning fans in the front row are just less than 6m from the action!
