Brad Davis insists London Irish will need to be ‘on the money’ for the full 80 minutes against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday.

Irish - who sit seventh in the Gallagher Premiership - host Falcons, who occupy eighth spot, in what promises to be another rip-roaring clash at the Brentford Community Stadium.

“We know they’ll come down and graft for the full 80 minutes,” said Davis.

“We’ll have be competitive in every aspect of the game - Newcastle just don’t go away - and they’ve also got that little bit of stardust with their wingers.

“They’ve had a good start to the season and they’ve got a great spirit in the squad, which comes across in their performances.

“We need to be on the money and be ready to fight for the full 80 minutes.”

Last season’s two encounters finished with a win for either side.

Irish won 31-22 at the BCS in January, before Falcons got revenge with a 52-27 victory at Kingston Park in May.

That defeat still leaves a bitter taste for Davis, as he explained.

“We’re still hurting from our trip up there last season, where they put 50 on us,” he said.

“We were off our game physically that day - and they were very aggressive and made the most of our below-par performance.”
