London Irish U18s secured another league victory yesterday with a comfortable 19-46 victory against Bristol U18s at Dings Crusaders RFC.

The victory edged the young Exiles further clear at the top of the Southern Conference with one league match remaining against Exeter away next Saturday 25 January.

Irish crossed for eight tries in total, five in the first half and three in the second in another impressive performance.

Back row forwards George Davis and Marcus Rhodes went over for the first two tries of the afternoon in the opening eight minutes before the hosts reduced the deficit with a score of their own, only minutes later.

Rhodes had his second of the afternoon on 25 minutes, before two quick scores just before the break by Henry Arundell and Joe Vajner put daylight between the sides.

George Davis went over for his second try early into the second half which was converted by Monty Bradbury to make it 5-34.

The hosts did come back and crossed for two tries of their own, but Irish quickly regained the momentum and ascendancy to finish strongly with replacement Matt Barrett and centre Will Joseph both getting their names on the score sheet.

Monty Bradbury converted Joseph’s score to make the final score 19-46.

Irish travel to Sixways next Saturday for their final game of the conference.
