2022/23 Gallagher Premiership and Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures confirmed

London Irish’s 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership and Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures have been announced.

Declan Kidney’s Exiles will begin their league campaign with a home encounter against Worcester Warriors on Saturday 10^th September 2022 (KO 15:00pm), with it being the third consecutive season the sides have played each other on opening day.

Irish continue their Premiership journey the following Friday (16^th September 2022) on the road in Round 2 to previous play-off qualifiers Northampton Saints at the cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens (KO 19:45pm).

The first tier of English rugby starts their Premiership Rugby Cup campaign on the dates of the Tuesday 21^stand Wednesday 22^nd September 2022, between Rounds 2 and 3 of the Gallagher Premiership.

The boys in green have been drawn in Pool C of the Premiership Rugby Cup, facing the same opposition as last year’s edition of the tournament in Harlequins, Northampton Saints and Saracens, whilst now taking on Wasps in the final cross-pool fixture in Round 4.

London Irish’s first game in the domestic knockout competition is a finely poised away trip down the road to Harlequins at the Stoop (KO time TBC), with the Exiles convincingly beating their local rivals 34-19 in the pool stages last term.

The Club’s third Premiership outing sees them once more on their travels, this time to the West Country against Pat Lam’s Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate (Saturday 24^th September 2022, KO 15.00pm) after picking up their first win there in 13 years last season.

Television scheduling has also been confirmed for the first 10 rounds of Gallagher Premiership action, with four of the Exiles’ fixtures selected for coverage.

The aforementioned clash with Saints will be shown live on BT Sport, as will Irish’s respective Round 6, 7 and 8 meetings with Sale Sharks, Gloucester Rugby and Harlequins.

Irish take on Sharks on Friday 14^th October 2022 (KO 19.45pm, live on BT Sport), then hosting former Exile George Skivington’s Gloucester the following Friday (21^st October 2022, KO 19.45pm, live on BT Sport) before another blockbuster matchup with Quins at the Stoop on Saturday 19^th October 2022 (KO 15.00pm, live on BT Sport).

A festive gift in the form of a London derby will see Irish host Gallagher Premiership finalists Saracens as the Christmas fixture at the Brentford Community Stadium, with the Club boasting an unbeaten domestic record against the north Londoners in three games in 2021/22.

The game is slated for Friday 23^rd/ Saturday 24^th December 2022, with confirmed dates and times to be released in due course.

The weekend of the 24^th/25^th/26^th March 2023 will see the return of the much beloved St. Patrick’s Party, in what will be the Club’s second celebration with fans back in Brentford.

Northampton Saints are Irish’s billed opposition for the festivities for the second year running, with a kick-off time and date to be confirmed.

In Round 26 of the Gallagher Premiership, London Irish round off their league season with an appealing fixture against Tabai Matson’s Harlequins at home on the weekend of the 5^th/6^th/7^th May 2023.
