JOB TITLE: Senior Performance Analyst

Providing Performance Analysis services to the players and coaches of London Irish RFC. The successful applicant will need vast experience in working within a professional sports environment and demonstrate competency to the roles that comes with it. Strong working knowledge of SportsCode, Gamebreaker and other related software’s. Within the rules of professional confidentially, liaise with London Irish players, coaches and other support staff as appropriate. Rugby knowledge and studies within the field of Performance Analysis is of necessity.

Provide video and statistical reports on individual and team performances of London Irish.
Ability to capture, code and analyse specific team and individual KPIs through clear definitions.
Effectively analyse opposition teams and individual traits of performance.
Capability to evolve a workflow and coding template.
Support the delivery of individual and group analysis sessions. Capture, prepare and analyse data from games and training sessions to enhance feedback and player development.
To organise, maintain and archive databases. This will encompass a comprehensive, indexed visual database of all professional matches played globally.
Testing hardware and software for use in the rugby environment.
Assisting with hardware and software issues as they arise.
Ensure that the delivery of the performance analysis service effectively meets its commitments to players, coaches and external partners.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed across the organisation as appropriate.

Training and competence in the operation of required technology.
Solid understanding of rugby union.
IT Literate.
Related Sports Science Degree.
Creative presentation skills and experience.
Database management experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (team, coach and player interaction).
Proactive attitude within the role.

London Irish are looking for a suitably experienced and highly motivated strength and conditioning coach to work within the academy program.
It's a very exciting time for London Irish as they move into a new high performance centre in Sunbury at the start of next season.


Implementing the Academy S & C programme for players aged 14-21.
Collection and interpretation of performance data.
Going into schools as directed by Academy Manager and deliver S & C support where applicable.
Manage the inputting of Academy performance data into EPAS (RFU data base).
Work within the senior Strength and Conditioning program when required.
Assist when required in the rehabilitation of injured players.
Attend Academy camps/fixtures as directed.
Establish relationships with schools, colleges and junior clubs.


A minimum of BSc in sport exercise science/Strength & Conditioning or equivalent.
A sound practical background of all core Olympic lifts.
Previous experience of working with elite athletes.
A thorough understanding of long term athletic development with maturing athletes.
The ability to work in a team environment.
The ability to engage and inspire young athletes.
Proficient IT skills.
Driving license and possess own mode of transport.

A sound knowledge of rugby.
A sound practical understanding of GPS.

Academy Performance Analyst

London Irish are looking for a suitably experienced and highly motivated video analyst to work within the academy program in a paid internship for next season.


Coding via Sportscode.
Film matches and training.
Statistical analysis of collected data.
Delivery of statistics and identification of Key Performace Indicators.
Distribution of analysis to coaches and players.

Excellent knowledge of Premiership and European rugby.
Display sound IT skills and aptitude to learn to use new software packages.
Ability to concentrate for long periods and pay attention to detail
Flexibility in working hours.
Ability to consistently provide full detailed analysis within tight deadlines.
Previous video analysis experience.

Rugby coaching/playing experience.
