An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our strength and conditioning team at our new state of the art training facility at Hazelwood. We are looking to recruit a junior academy strength and conditioning coach with experience working in elite sport and experience working in a professional rugby environment.
The successful candidate will work within the senior and academy strength and conditioning programs. Primary duties will include construction and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for junior academy players in the u16s and u18s and providing match day support for all junior academy fixtures. You will also be required to assist with athlete monitoring procedures, coaching of all exercises within the strength program for all age ranges including senior team.
The successful candidate must have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, comprehensive ability to use excel, confidence working in a team sports environment and display very good communication skills. Experience working in elite sport is essential and experience in rugby union is desirable.
Organise and implement all aspects of strength and conditioning to ensure the physical development of all junior academy players. Provide match day support at all junior academy fixtures. Assist in the running of gym based sessions and data collection for both senior and academy programs.
Construct and implement strength and conditioning programs for junior academy players.
Visit local schools to lead gym session with high priority players.
Strength and conditioning data collection and analysis of all junior academy players.
Provide match day support for all junior academy fixtures and tournaments.
Assist with senior team athlete monitoring procedures including GPS, training load and wellness feedback.
Provide mobility and warmup support for all gym and field based sessions.
Assist in senior team gym based training sessions providing expert knowledge on exercise technique and loading when needed.
Assist in field based conditioning sessions when needed.
To carry out other duties that may be required by management and are within the post holder’s capabilities.
BSc in Strength and Conditioning Science or equivalent.
At least one year experience working in elite sport.
MSc in Strength and Conditioning Science or equivalent
Experience working in rugby union.
