Alfredo Lalanne is a highly regarded scrum half who joined London Irish in November 2008 and has since made ten senior appearances.
26-year-old Alfredo was born in Buenos Aires where he attended the Los Molinos School. The San Isidro club was to be his rugby 'home' through his teens and into his early twenties. He played at all age levels for the famous Argentine rugby nursery and made lasting friendships with Tomas De Vedia, Gonzalo Tiesi and Juan Leguizamon, players who preceded him at London Irish.
He attended St Andrew's University in Victoria, a suburb of Buenos Aires, from where he graduated with a degree in Economics.
Alfredo played for his country's age group teams before catching the eye for Argentina's Sevens team in the IRB World Series circuit in 2007. He was also his country's number one choice as scrum half in the IRB Nations Cup in Bucharest in 2007 where Argentina 'A' made it to the final only to lose to the Emerging South Africa team.
He was awarded his first full cap for Argentina in the summer 2008 against South Africa and went on to play for his country in the two tests against England in June 2009.
