Paul Hodgosn joined London Irish in July 2004 from Bristol Shoguns, having spent almost 13 years with Sutton & Epsom, before moving to London Wasps in 2001 and on to Bristol. A former pupil of Glyn ADT School in Ewell, Surrey, Paul has represented England at U18s and U21s level as well as playing for England 7s in the IRB World Sevens Series. The Epsom-born scrum half made quite an impact for London Irish in the 2008-09 Premiership and European campaigns, and continues to be a key ingredient in the Exiles' success. Paul is a loquacious, quick-witted half back with the speed and power to cause opposing defenders problems. To date he has made 140 first team appearances and scored 10 tries for the Exiles. He received the 'Player of the Season Award' at the club's annual awards ceremony in May 2008. In July 2008 Paul helped guide England Saxons to a second successive Barclays Churchill Cup title, playing in all three of England's matches including the final against Scotland A. Having been named in the Sky Sports 2008-9 Guinness Premiership Dream Team in May 2009 after an outstanding season for London Irish, Paul added to the single cap he won as a replacement against Ireland during the 2008 RBS 6 Nations when he came off the bench in both of the June 2009 tests against Argentina.
